A Tree Just a Legend? No Way, if you Hug it, Stay Close To It, Admire It or Learn More About It!

Legend of The Dogwood

A tree that's found across the world in various species, shapes and sizes, yet blooming with flowers in the seasons that the land posses, Tree is known a tree or flower with colors ranging from White, Pink, Red and all, but it can't be just that or a legend.

Yes, I love dogwood Tree.
It's a legend in Christianity.
But a it's a reality to me.

I have seen the white ones having four petals, and at the end of each there is a rust like color reminding of the rusty nails that took Lord's life (I am sorry, My English isn't that good to write it any other way, but that's how I felt when I saw the flowers.)

What's is Legend ?
What scientists can't prove, they call it legend.

Who are Scientist ?
Just like us; Humans - Animals

What is not Legend ?
If you look closer, deep inside yourself, there are only realities, no legends.
What was once impossible like reaching to moon has become a reality.
What was once some sort of science fiction; Can all people be connected on this earth?
Now it's a reality with the invent of Internet.

I really don't believe this is a legend, it's reality.
There is no Legend of Dogwood Tree
There is a Reality of Dogwood Tree.
I want you to watch the following video I created title "The Legend of Dogwood Tree" I will do it again when this tree blooms with flowers and do another post. Two videos will reflect what this post talks about. For now, watch the video and read on.

Although I was raised as a Hindu by family who passed their belief from one generation to another, I also believed in Peace, so learned a bit of Buddhism and also follow some of its belief about Peace. I haven' t truly a Hindu nor have I been a true Buddhism.

As I grew older, like all of us, I rode the roller coaster rider called "Life's Ups and Downs"
But Boy! Mine was a faster......... Now divorce is on the table with a beautiful daughter as the one I will leave behind as I grow older and leave this planet.

But I know, I am not alone in this six billion people on the planet, perhaps even thousands or even more have my story. But for those who have the same story, they know how difficult times can be. For some, depression, anxiety can arise and things change rapidly such as mood, behavior, and person's character.

About 6 months ago or so, I don't remember much about the date,
could it be that Alzheimer's is on my table soon too?

Anyways, a very tall man stood besides me and he said, "I can feel your pain".
I was shocked how someone could feel my pains and sufferings without even knowing what's inside my heart or in my mind. Perhaps they showed in my face ? My mood suddenly changed. Even if "Alzheimer" comes to me, I won't forget this day. There was someone there besides two of us and I could feel it. [I just printed that line because of you, I know you are talking about it, yeah, sure, you gonna remember when that disease strikes you. please don't say anything like that. I have printed that line and pasted on the refrigerator door, okay! Now you happy!]

Anyways, The man said, "Close your eyes, and just pray with me brother"
I never did any praying although my family specially Dad used to do every morning and also didn't know the meaning of the pray and all that. I never thought praying was something for humans to do.

I took his order, closed my eyes, then repeated every words he prayed.
Upon praying, I opened my eyes slowly, I started to see everything clear, different, I became much happier, everything looked brighter, I felt uplifting, and I see more futuristic vision - just the exact opposite of what I had before. Right then, I felt something was different about me, my mood had also changed and I felt it, and I can you tell you thousand times how much better I felt that time. Immediately, I turned towards the man, and I was shocked. He had tears in his eyes, the very same should in mines. I felt someone came to my heart that very day, that very moment, during that pray.

I couldn't understand all of it.

The man didn't ask me anything. After praying, he went back to join his family who was dining at the restaurant where I worked and I was their server. As I followed him with a Pepsi-Pitcher holding in my hand to refill customer's drinks. I saw everyone were looking at that man who had tears you could see in baby's cries.

Since then, I have been happier. Even on the same day, I started working as if my feet were a few inches higher, my dreams seemed real and vision became clear. have no idea what happened. But do remember that as if someone came to my heart and stayed.

There are many articles, resources and even poems about the Dogwood Tree; some poems author's unknown. For me the legend is not a legend, but a reality. For I can repeat again, that day when I prayed along with the man who took my tears, someone came to my heart and stayed.

If you did watch the video and missed the poem, Click on the video to view youtube's video page, click on the description to read the poem written specifically for the video by, a great poet, Donna Oates - a link to her blog at the resource list at the end of this post.

Here are few

In Jesus' time, the dogwood grew
To a stately size and a lovely hue.
'Twas strong & firm it's branches interwoven
For the cross of Christ its timbers were chosen.
Seeing the distress at this use of their wood
Christ made a promise which still holds good:
"Never again shall the dogwood grow
Large enough to be used so
Slender & twisted, it shall be
With blossoms like the cross for all to see.
As blood stains the petals marked in brown
The blossom's center wears a thorny crown.
All who see it will remember me
Crucified on a cross from the dogwood tree.
Cherished and protected this tree shall be
A reminder to all of my agony."

A version, a poem on the Legend of Dogwood Tree..

When Christ was on earth, the dogwood grew
To a towering size with a lovely hue.
Its branches were strong and interwoven
And for Christ's cross its timbers were chosen

Being distressed at the use of the wood
Christ made a promise which still holds good:
"Not ever again shall the dogwood grow
To be large enough for a tree, and so

Slender and twisted it shall always be
With cross-shaped blossoms for all to see.
The petals shall have bloodstains marked brown
And in the blossom's center a thorny crown.

All who see it will think of Me,
Nailed to a cross from a dogwood tree.
Protected and cherished this tree shall be
A reflection to all of My agony."

I want you to know that everyone's beliefs, faiths, and religions which they chose or study is their own right and nobody should point fingers at them or ask even the question such as "What's your region ?"

Instead, we should all ask ourselves :

During our entire life span, have we made mistakes? None ?
Are we perfect ?
If Not, Can we be honest and bold enough to say that we are sinner ?
